Meet Carissa. Another fabulous 2011 Senior Rep for Jess VanLue, and another subject to brave frigid temps for the love of the photo. Carissa is a doll and so friendly. After our first meeting, I felt like we’d known each other forever. Can’t wait to work with her again.

Sweet little Jackie came back for another visit a couple weeks ago. Oh my, she is incredibly precious! Thanks to my dog, Otto, for keeping her very amused. She was a ball of giggles.

This teeny love was a true pleasure to meet and photograph. She’s a natural at 3 weeks … with wonderful parents to boot.

Let me just tell you a little about my mom:

- She makes THE BEST german chocolate cake.
- Her gardens (all 10+) are extremely lush and gorgeous.
- I think my children would rather live with her most days. She’s an amazing Grandma.
- She’s a child of God, and shows this daily.
- At age 50(something) she decided to go to college. She gets all A’s.
- She’s the hardest worker that I know.
- She daily gives hope and inspiration to troubled teenage boys. She changes lives.
- She knows that when I call her and start with “I’ve got a dilemma” that she needs to sit down.
- She has fantastic style.
- She hates sushi. Yeah, I know … crazy, right?
- She always puts others first and rarely gives herself enough time or attention.
- She loves unconditionally.
- She’s the best mom I could ever imagine, <3

Lighting Workshop

Still recooperating from an information-filled, super fun weekend. Headed to Grand Rapids to attend an Off Camera Flash Workshop with Ali Hohn. Totally worth it! I met some truly amazing photographers who I now consider friends, plus learned a sweet new lighting technique that I have a sneaky feeling my seniors will love!

The Winner (Round Two)

Sadly, our first winner was unable to schedule an April session, and she has asked to have a new winner chosen. What a sweetheart! Time to draw a NEW winner. My First Ever Living Indoor Plant.

Pathetic, right? Well, I have always had the worst luck with growing anything lush inside my home. Thanks to some dear relatives who sent us some Amaryllis bulbs for Christmas, we now have a gorgeous blooming plant. Yay! (Thanks, Aunt Lila and Uncle Steve!)
