Riviera Maya

June 3, 2010 : Personal Projects, Randomness

Hola, mis amigos!  We’ve returned from the muy bonita country of Mexico.  It’s hard to formulate a blog post to describe the trip, because it was overwhelmingly incredible.  The weather, the resort, the water, the food, the drinks, the company, the breeze, the colors, the connections, the peace, the people, the view, the sun, the memories … just utterly fantastic.  I could go on and on, but I think the huge smile on my face right now and the following pictures sum it all up quite nicely.  God’s creations are hard to define.

The Resort:  Hacienda Tres Rios

The Mayan Show presented at the resort (AWESOME!).

Florals

Beaches

5th Avenue in Playa Del Carmen

Many, many more images posted on my Facebook.  Find me there. :)

Melinda : Awesome! I am looking forward to my vacation at the end of the week. Nothing like Mexico though! So what camera and lens did you take traveling? I am headed to the beach too and worried about ruining the "good stuff". I may just take it anyway. 06-03-10
Jess : @Brian - with a side of Mayan cargo. Good times. :) @Nichol - Yes, please! Summer & sushi ... sounds like a plan. @Melinda - I took the 5D (backup) with a rented 16-35L and my 85L. Have tons of fun on your vaca! 06-03-10
Jared : Fish tacos...punch in the face...do you know which way the ocean is?...duty free...mayan cargo...the time-share speech will only take 90 minutes. All my favorite phrases from that trip! 06-03-10
Brian : and..."yes, Senor that is Grey Goose." 06-04-10
Cindi Wilinski : simply amazing photos..... you should send these to them to use as advertisement. completely gorgous. 06-04-10

In My Mother’s Garden …

April 29, 2010 : Personal Projects, Randomness

In my mother’s garden,
You will find a huge array,
Of greens and branches,
Leaves and petals,
Growing day by day.

In my mother’s garden,
there is love grown everywhere.
Care and passion,
Heart and soul
Are always shining there.

In my mother’s garden,
there lies a bit of peace.
I take it in,
And keep it with me
And hope it will increase.

Slodding.

February 10, 2010 : Randomness

No, the title is not a typo.  “Slodding” is a very fun winter pastime for my family … dating way back to my childhood (yes, hundreds of years ago).  Sleds + Quad = Slodding.  Is it safe?  Ummm … not sure.  Should you try this at home?  Hmmm … probably not.  Today my dad and my kids had a pretty awesome time out in the snow.  Here’s a snippet from their adventure:

melinda : Looks like a blast! 02-10-10
