Daycare Days
Yesterday was a blast! Spent the day at “Down on The Farm” Daycare photographing the wonderful children. This was the second annual JVP Photoshoot at this daycare. So fun! The kids were excited and very receptive at picture time. They truly made the day so enjoyable. I loved each of their unique smiles, quirkiness and giggles … oh, and a few of the boys had some serious fast shoes on.
I’m already looking forward to next year.

“Fresh” was a huge success!
First off, thanks to everyone who stopped in at Fresh and helped make it such an awesome event! And special thanks to those who put up with my [slightly] annoying cackle. It worked, though. Haha!
And if you’re new to Fresh, let me explain. Kelly O’Brian Saloncafe, makeup artist Alexandra Franz and Jess VanLue Photography all teamed up to host a night of the hottest styles and images. Guests were treated to yummy café drinks, delish little snacks and awesome live music. They also spoiled themselves to some or all of our $5 offerings … $5 hair style, $5 makeup session and $5 photo shoot. So fun!!!! I have the best job ever! These girls/women were so beautiful, genuine, amazing and fresh.
It was so incredibly great to see old faces and even meet a few new ones. I can only hope that everyone involved had as much fun as I did.
Sadly, I didn’t get any images of the event itself. I’m hoping that someone, anyone out there who stopped by with their digi camera or phone will share some with me.
Here’s a small taste of the good times:

Koiné
Koiné – The Church Band. When Benj, the guitarist and former classmate of mine, contacted me about their upcoming trip to Michigan, I was thrilled. I had only heard great things about Koiné. Was completely honored to spend time with this amazing group. Koiné is a contemporary Christian band, bringing a new vibrant sound and feel to traditional Lutheran and Christian songs. They are seriously amazing. The kids and I listen to them almost daily now. They all look pretty darn cool, too.

Trash The {PROM} Dress
This good time was basically a spur of the moment idea. I’ve been pestering seniors for over a year now to get down and dirty in their prom dresses, but until now I couldn’t find any takers. Allie, a new dear client of mine, managed to wrangle up 4 girls at the drop of the hat. I found 2 myself, and we had ourselves a fun little shoot. ”Fun” because we were taking awesome shots in sand and water … but the wind, storm and rain were not-so-fun. We were forced home a little early because of the storm, but still managed to grab some keepers. Thanks, girls, for joining in!

Just couldn’t resist sharing this last one. We created this on our way home from the beach after the storm had past. These lovely girlies complimented the scenery well … if I do say so myself.
