Ashley & Steve: Engaged.
Very small session, huge amounts of fun. You’ll see lots more of Ashley and Steve after their wedding next summer. They slipped in for a last minute engagement mini session. I love these two! If a 20 minute engagement shoot was fun, I can only imagine how awesome the wedding day will be. Yay!

Kaylie.
Just beautiful in every way. Had lots of fun exploring a new location with Kaylie. I’ll definitely be heading back in the near future. Much thanks to my reflector girl, Jacquelyn.

Old Friends. New Babies.
Two of my great friends (now married) from high school came for a visit and photos. I can’t even begin to express how great it was to spend time with them. I was totally reminded of why we were so close in high school. I miss them!
They have the most beautiful little girls ever. Harper, the 2-year old, was bound and determined to stay true to herself and her fire cracker personality. No photographer lady was going to tell her what to do. No way! Good thing this photographer lady loves her just the way she is and managed to capture a bit of that fire. Meanwhile, baby Ellis was calm and relaxed and simply enjoyed watching her big sister run the show. Love them!
*Warning: Photo overload ahead!*

Just love this one of Harper’s wispy, curly hair:

Kayla.
I absolutely love my sessions with high school seniors. Not only because they are great listeners who don’t try to run and escape me when the camera comes out, but also because is so fun getting to know their personalites. Love Kayla! She’s super funny, so laid back and really seems to go with the flow (as long as it’s fun!) She reminded me a bit of myself in high school.
Sidetracking for a second, I was recently inspired by the amazing Joy Kaminski to shoot and process for myself. I love all things fashion and magazine-like, so I decided to put some of that love into Kayla’s photos. Yes, they look faded. No, they aren’t super bright and contrasty. But, I love this look! Kayla is so gorgeous, that you may think these came straight out of a catalog. It’s fun to step out of the box every once and awhile.

Notice the new “JV” watermark? It’s just a little sneak peak of the new logo and branding that will soon be launched. Can’t wait to share!
Jeanine.
Did I ever mention that I love my job? Truly, it’s so much fun. Jeanine is someone I could photograph all day long. She’s adorable and drop dead gorgeous at the same time. Plus, she’s as sweet and kind as she is beautiful. Really had to hold myself back from filling this whole page with her images. I love them! Thanks, girls, for an extremely fun evening.
